ArticlesThe unholy trinity: fat, food and age - mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fattest of them all? If it were only about fat, this would be just another low-fat book. But there's more to it than that. It's about making the right food decisions. It's about knowing what foods will fight off cancer, heart disease, stroke, hypertension, osteoporosis, diabetes, depression and ageing. It's about grasping the fact that there is only so much room in each food for various elements. Some of those elements are vitamins. Some are minerals. Some are protein. And some are fat. It's understanding that the more fat there is in a particular food, the less room there is for other elements, just like m us. The more fat there is in us, the less room there is for all those nutrients that extend our youth and our lives. The American Dietetic Association says more than 82 per cent of Americans recognize the importance of good nutrition, but only 39 per cent (down from previous years) say they are doing all they can to achieve a healthy diet. *22\323\8* |
